The CrossFit Games are well under way and we are 16 days away from the regional portion of the competition. The Open was available for anyone to try – each week for five weeks, a surprise workout was announced and participants had five days to complete the workout and submit a score. Each workout was scored and ranked, and at the conclusion, only the best 48 Men and Women and 30 Teams from each region could move on.

We’re thrilled to announce that The Foundry was invited to compete at Regionals after a 26th place finish in The Open! The team couldn’t have gotten there without a huge effort from different members in the gym. The Open tests a variety of movements and modalities and thirteen different athletes contributed a top three score for our team. Beyond that all of our members participated in the workout on Fridays and many stayed to cheer on others. The Regional portion of the CrossFit Games consists of thirty teams competing for three spots at the CrossFit Games in Carson, CA. The workouts will be announced shortly and the team will have to be ready for anything!

The Foundry 2014 Regionals Team

The team has been busy preparing and is ready to compete. The Regional competition will be held at Navy Pier May 9-11th and we hope our team will have as much support from our members as they did in the open. The last three years have been an amazing experience for all who attended and now we will get to cheer on our teammates. The Foundry Regional team includes Amelia Boone, Jenni Hartman, Alecia Taylor, Kumuda Pradhan, Jon Colborn, Will Neal, Wayne Banks, and Jordan Roland.

This is an amazing opportunity to see Team Foundry in action as well as other CrossFit athletes from all over the MidWest – the North Central Region is one of the most competitive in the World. We cant wait to watch Team Foundry compete and we hope you will join us!

* Both locations will be open 5-9am & 6:30-8:30pm Friday May 9th, and Printers Row will be open 8-10am Saturday and Sunday. Check the schedule online for full details.
