It’s been a long time since many of us touched a barbell, and we’re excited to re-open in a limited capacity this coming Monday, June 8th.

If you have been following the news, you are probably aware that Illinois has a five-phase re-opening plan, and that Chicago has its own plan with slightly different rules.  We are currently in phase 3 of both plans.

Although the city/stage hasn’t supplied timelines for future phases, we wanted to provide a general roadmap of our plan based on the information we have now.  We have joined the Illinois Fitness Alliance along with other Chicago fitness businesses to advocate for safely re-opening our businesses.  We will add detail to the plan as more information becomes available.

We wish we could resume indoor group workouts now, we are committed to continuing to provide unique solutions to help you remain fit and healthy and will continue adding services as we are able to.

The Foundry Four Stage Re-Opening Plan

*we used letters A-D and gave them names to avoid confusion with Chicago’s phases.

Stage A: “Adapt” (March 17 -June 7 2020)
Corresponding Chicago Phase: 1&2

Services: Online Coaching, Zoom Classes, Core-N-Tine, Saturday Park WoD

In this stage we provided online coaching and accountability to all members, launched Zoom classes Monday – Saturday, and Core Workouts 3x/week over Zoom.

Phase B: “(re)Build” (June 8rd – ???)
Corresponding Chicago Phase: 3

Services: Online Coaching, Zoom Classes, Core-N-tine, Outdoor WoD, 1:1 Coaching

In phase B we are adding 1:1 personal training to our other services.  We will be providing a detailed explanation of how this will work in a separate email, which will include some options that current group members can take advantage of.

In addition, we will maintain the Zoom Schedule, Core-N-tine, and add an outdoor workout on Wednesdays.

Phase C: “Crush”! (Unknown, hopefully 4-6 weeks from now)
Corresponding Chicago Phase: 3.5 (*rumored info from the City of Chicago)

Services: Online Coaching, Zoom Classes, Core-N-Tine, Outdoor WoD, 1:1 Coaching, Small Groups (5-10), Open Gym

The city is currently considering a “phase 3.5” which would allow gyms like ours to train people in small groups, using appropriate precautions.  We don’t know exactly when this will occur, but looking at trends in data we are hoping it will be within 4-6 weeks.

During this time we will still maintain some of our online services and outdoor workouts, with schedule and frequency determined by demand.

Phase D: “Dominate Your Fitness” (unknown timeline)

Corresponding Chicago Phase: 4

Back to 2019-like training practices, with added sanitation and precautions.  We don’t know when this will happen, but we’ll be ready for it when it does.

No matter the challenges, no matter the restrictions, The Foundry is committed to helping you stay healthy, fit, and connected to your community in the best way possible.
